Happy April! Spring has sprung around our space, and our seats are filling up with members most weekdays. Invite a friend or colleague to come in for a free tour and work alongside you for a day. The 10(0) Things Entrepreneurs Should Always/Never Do
Thursday April 6, 6PM – 8PM @ Catalyst Ranch
Second Shift member Danny Schuman’s been interviewing entrepreneurs from all walks of life, from outdoor guides to choreographers to web designers to nurses, and it’s taught him a boatload of new lessons. He’ll use what he’s learned as a starting point to get the group going, then we’ll all chip in. The idea is to collectively come up with 100 tips that entrepreneurs should either always or never do to succeed. Whether we come up with 100 or 1000 or 74.5, each person will capture his or her own Top Ten, and leave with new ideas he or she can put to use right away.

Women in Tech Event
Friday April 7, 8AM – 9:30AM @ General Assembly
Free event featuring women entrepreneur panelists, including Second Shift member and co-owner Nicole Vasquez! Join us for lightning talks by a handful of amazing women in the Chicago tech scene and take a deeper dive into the issues women face in the tech industry and find solutions to how we can rise above the obstacles and thrive in this growing field.

Intro to the Digital Nomad Lifestyle w/Brook Woolf
Monday April 17, 6:30PM – 8PM @ Second Shift
This short class will introduce easy and usable tools on how to start a work/travel “digital nomad” lifestyle. It will unveil the illusion that it takes years of planning and reveal that there is more success when your lifestyle coincides with your work-life.

Chicago Northside Mini Maker Faire
Application Deadline: April 10
Are you a maker, or just have a hobby or craft activity that you want to share with the world? The Chicago Northside Mini Maker Faire is an annual event held at Schurz High School on Saturday May 6th. Applications are now being accepted for spots at this grassroots event showcasing science, technology, engineering, arts, and other creative maker projects. Students, parents, and teachers are especially encouraged to submit project ideas.
