Hi! I’m Brian Van Slyke, a relatively new-ish member of Second Shift, joining in July after seven years of working from home.
I’m the founder of The TESA Collective, which creates tools, programs, and games for your cause. We both create things in house – like our recently released Rise Up: The Game of People & Power, a board game about fighting for what you believe in – and we also work with other organizations to build awesome, interactive educational resources for their mission. You can see some of the projects we’ve worked on here. I’m really driven by making social movements and education fun, engaging, and steeped in dialogue and action. To me, people don’t learn best by being told something, they learn best by doing something. And that’s what TESA aims to help non-profits and other mission-based organizations achieve. It’s been so great working on projects ranging anywhere from curriculum development to documentary filming to board game creation!
